CTC → IN-HAND · FY 2026–27
₹10 lakh CTC is one of the most common offer levels in India, and the in-hand number depends on your tax regime and salary structure. Under the FY 2026-27 new regime with the estimated structure, the ₹75,000 standard deduction plus employee PF and professional tax bring your taxable income down, so your monthly in-hand is comfortably below the simple ₹83,333 (CTC ÷ 12).
This page shows the estimated monthly gross, all monthly deductions and the resulting monthly and annual in-hand using the site's calculation engine. Your exact numbers vary with your employer's salary structure, tax regime and location.
Every deduction line is shown explicitly below, and the calculator lets you toggle between the new and old regime to see which works out better once your own deductions are considered.

ESTIMATED BREAKUP
These figures use the FY 2026-27 rules with the site’s default assumptions: new tax regime, Karnataka (professional tax of ₹2,400/year), estimated structure (basic ≈ 40% of fixed pay), employee & employer PF at 12% of basic, no PF wage cap, and variable pay assumed fully payable. Actual in-hand salary varies with your employer’s salary structure, location, tax declarations and PF configuration — always verify with your payslip and use the calculator above for your own inputs.
STEP BY STEP
| Component | Annual | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Annual CTC | ₹10,00,000 | ₹83,333 |
| Gross salary (annual) | ₹9,59,939 | ₹79,995 |
| Employee PF | -₹21,600 | -₹1,800 |
| Professional tax | -₹2,400 | -₹200 |
| Income tax | ₹-0 | ₹-0 |
| Annual in-hand | ₹9,35,939 | ₹77,995 |
At a ₹10 Lakh CTC CTC (₹10,00,000 a year), the in-hand figure depends on what part of the package is cash and what is employer contribution or non-cash benefit. Under the estimated structure used here, employer PF and gratuity are part of CTC but are not paid to you as salary, while employee PF, professional tax and income tax are deducted from your cash pay. That is why your monthly in-hand is lower than the simple CTC ÷ 12 figure.
Your actual breakup may differ if your basic-to-HRA mix, PF basis or tax regime is different. The calculator shows every deduction and its assumptions so you can compare offers or budget for your take-home pay.
REGIME CHOICE
Whether you file under the new or old regime changes both your income tax and your in-hand. Using the same estimated structure and Karnataka, the figures for a ₹10,00,000 CTC compare as follows.
| Item | New regime | Old regime |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly in-hand | ₹77,995 | ₹70,180 |
| Annual income tax | ₹0 | ₹93,775 |
| Annual in-hand | ₹9,35,939 | ₹8,42,164 |
The old-regime estimate only applies the standard ₹50,000 deduction plus employee PF (Section 80C). If you claim other deductions such as HRA, 80C investments or a home-loan interest, your old-regime tax would be lower than shown here — use the calculator with your actual claims.
BY LOCATION
Professional tax is a small state levy deducted from your salary each month. Moving between the states below changes this deduction (and therefore your in-hand) by a modest amount — these are the annual figures and the resulting monthly in-hand for a ₹10,00,000 CTC under the new regime.
| State | Annual professional tax | Monthly in-hand (new regime) |
|---|---|---|
| Karnataka | ₹2,400 | ₹77,995 |
| Maharashtra | ₹2,500 | ₹77,987 |
| Tamil Nadu | ₹2,500 | ₹77,987 |
| West Bengal | ₹2,400 | ₹77,995 |
| Telangana | ₹2,400 | ₹77,995 |
| Delhi | ₹0 | ₹78,195 |

Under the new regime with the default estimated structure, a ₹10 LPA CTC gives roughly the monthly in-hand shown in the breakdown above after income tax, employee PF and professional tax. The figure changes if you use the old regime, a different state or an exact salary structure.
At ₹10 LPA with few deductions, the new regime is often simpler and can be lower-tax, while the old regime may win if you claim substantial Section 80C and other deductions. The calculator lets you toggle regimes to compare your own result.
Depending on your structure and regime, in-hand is typically around 78–82% of the monthly CTC equivalent. The exact percentage is shown in the estimate above.
Because income tax, employee PF and professional tax are deducted from gross salary, and employer PF and gratuity are part of CTC but not paid as cash. The monthly breakdown above shows each of these line by line.
METHODOLOGY & SOURCES
Every figure on this page is computed for a ₹10,00,000 CTC using the site's salary engine, which applies the FY 2026-27 rules with these explicit assumptions: the new tax regime, the ₹75,000 standard deduction, an estimated salary structure (basic ≈ 40% of fixed pay), employee and employer PF at 12% of basic, no PF wage cap, and Karnataka professional tax of ₹2,400 a year. Each deduction is shown as a separate line so you can verify the arithmetic yourself.
The rules reflect the official sources below and are re-verified each financial year: the Income Tax Department (incometax.gov.in) for tax slabs, standard deduction and Section 87A rebate, and theEmployees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) for the 12% PF contribution rates. Figures are estimates for planning and comparison — your employer’s actual salary structure, benefits and tax declarations determine your real payslip.
